Galloway

Michael, I know you have a great respect for Mr. Galloway's career in journalism. I think it may be time to reevaluate the usefulness of reprinting his columns. He has some kind of visceral hate for the president that has diminished his capacity to accurately report facts, and has resorted to innuendo and slander to convey his personal dislike for the man, instead of the policies. I think when ever discussing what happened at Abu Ghraib, it is useful to remember that General Taguba's investigation was launched when a junior enlisted man reported the abuse to a company grade officer in his chain of command. There was not a cover up, there was an investigation headed by a general officer, and charges preferred against several people involved in the mistreatment of prisoners. Neither Sidney Blumenthal nor "60 Minutes" crew did not uncover the story. They simply reported that the US Army was attempting to discipline people who richly deserved to be punished.
