Gregg Jackson on the air in Boston on WRKO radio

1. How do you describe what you do for a living?

In addition to co-hosting the Pundit Review program broadcast weekly on WKRO radio, and blogging for that site I recently wrote the book “Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies” so I can add “writing” to the list.

2. What inspired you to undertake this work?

I wrote the book because I love my country and felt as though somebody needed to compile a documented list of responses to the most common lies of the left on the most prominent social, cultural, and political issues of the day ( i.e. tax cuts for the rich, Bush lied, Republicans are racists, etc…) I also felt the need to do my part to defend our country from the “domestic insurgents” ( i.e. liberal Democrats) who are doing everything in their power to destroy our most sacred American values and institutions which have made our country great in an effort to reshape it into their own secular-Socialist utopia. I contend that right to life for the unborn, traditional marriage, free-market capitalism, federalism, property rights, American sovereignty, and the Judeo-Christian foundation of our country are all under severe assault.

3. How did you approach the task of writing this book?

My book is targeted at grassroots conservatives primarily. But there is also a critical mass of rightward leaning independents that may be socially liberal but fiscally conservative who want to educate themselves. They may not have the time to read 50 different books on 50 individual issues, so in Conservative Comebacks I have provided a way for busy people to stay informed on the major issues facing the citizen voter today.

4. Where do you find inspiration?

I am inspired mainly by people who take risks by staking out principled positions even if they are “unpopular.” Even though I don’t agree with everything President Bush has done, I am inspired by his steadfast commitment to fighting the War on Islamic Terrorism instead of pulling out as many of his liberal critics want to do. I am also inspired by people like Ann Coulter. She says the things that most people think but are too reticent to say. Also, people like Judge Roy Moore inspire me. When faced with the dilemma of complying with an immoral and unconstitutional ruling, Judge Moore chose to follow God’s law instead of the man’s law. He lost his job but not his soul. His example is one that I will try to emulate in my life time. We need more men and women like Judge Moore.

5. What books are you reading now?

“Never Quit The Fight” by Ralph Peters, “The Political Zoo” by Michael Savage, “The Futurist” by James Othner, and “The Passion of Jesus Christ” by John Piper.

6. What do you consider required reading in order for people to understand the world today?

Definitely the Wall St. Journal Op-Ed page. I have read the entire page virtually daily for the past 10 years. Also, Human Events, and of course, the Holy Bible (New American Standard) It is the roadmap for life.

7. Whose work (in any field) do you admire the most?

As a radio guy who blogs, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the New Media Citizen Journalists who are committed to exposing the truth- doing the job the elite media has abnegated. Dedicated bloggers such as Michelle Malkin, Glen Reynolds, Patterico, Matt from Blackfive, and of course Michael Yon have been consistently committed to providing his readers with the “good, the bad, and the ugly.”

8. What do you consider as an overrated person, place or thing?

Hillary Clinton- the supposed “smartest women in the world.” I would love to see her actually debate somebody like Ann Coulter mano a mano, 2 hours no holds barred where they could ask each other unlimited questions. Heck, I would love to debate her. In my opinion, she is afraid to engage in a real debate and answer difficult questions, because deep down she is a fraud and phony- and a very dangerous one at that.

9. What do hope will be your most lasting contribution?

I hope to be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and friend. I also hope to help defend and advance traditional conservative values and ideas. More liberalism is not going to save this country from the direction it is headed. I believe if we recommit ourselves to Faith, family, and country that we can solve the majority of the problems which plague our great nation.

10. When is the last time you laughed out loud about something?

The other night in the studio when we started the show and our microphones didn’t work. For some reason I thought that was hilarious and could not regain my composure. Fortunately, Kevin (my partner/co-host) did and talked while I laughed uncontrollably.

11. What do you think people need to spend more time doing (or paying attention to)?

I believe that we would all be a lot more fulfilled in life if we would seek God’s will in our life more. It’s the only way to find your God given purpose in life and, in my experience, is the best way to live a fulfilled life.

12. What is the most important piece of equipment (or skill) in your arsenal?

Passion and enthusiasm. When I am genuinely committed to accomplishing something, I believe whole-heartedly that there is nothing that can stop me except for my own negative thoughts and fears. God gave me that determined will and I have had it my entire life. Aside from that, my wife is my rock and secret weapon. She provides the ultimate encouragement, confidence, and support which has enabled me to achieve success in many areas in life. They say behind every successful man is a great women and I am living proof.

Please give the gift of independent reporting. Your gift goes far and is used for transport, lodging, living expenses, satellite communications and for repairing and replacing gear that fails due to the rigors of the battlefields.  Millions of people, in more than a hundred countries, see these photos and words.  Your generosity goes very far, and is greatly appreciated.
