Call to Action

Dear friends,

Our soldiers are turning defeat and disaster into victory and hope. But we could still fumble—if the American people don’t hear the truth now. There remain serious perils in Iraq and this is a time for action.

To get the message out, please help me get Moment of Truth in Iraq stocked in bookstores, and especially in free libraries and military exchanges.

Here’s how: Please click on “Handout for Bookstores and Libraries” below. This will open a printable one-page handout that can be given to any local bookstore manager, librarian, or military exchange. (Or all three if you can.)

The handout will tell bookstores and libraries everything they need to order Moment of Truth in Iraq. But what will really motivate retailers and librarians is you, the reader, a member of their community, requesting the book.

So please click here and ask your bookstore, library, or military exchange to please stock Moment of Truth in Iraq today.

Moment of Truth in Iraq is available on Amazon.com. We have hit the Amazon top 50 before the book even hit stores or libraries.

Thank you for your help,

Michael

P.S. To make this appeal at even more effective, please give a copy of the flyer to a friend or family member and ask him or her to do the same. My publisher says that two people asking the same library or store to stock a book is far more effective than one person asking.

P.P.S. This may be the biggest favor I’ll ever ask for, but if we pull this off we can get the message about what our soldiers have achieved to millions of people!

I received my copy last week, it is one of those books that when you start it you won't put it down ! I nearly read the entire book in one evening. Michael Yon has done it again in providing us the real essence of what is happening and in many cases showing the American people a glimpse of what needs to continue to happen.

This should be a must read for every politician who has a "position" on the war in Iraq. Spend a day in the life of the American fighting soldier, marine, sailor, or airman, here in this book we get glimpses of theirs and the lives of Iraqi citizens, we can and should make these lives better.

To find your local libraries and bookstores, you can go to Yahoo maps and put in your address. Then you can search for libraries or bookstores in the "FIND A BUSINESS ON THE MAP" field. You'll get the names and addresses of all your local ones.

    Michael,
I just received my copy. Thank you.
My friends here and in Britain have been notified of your request. The libraries are already hearing from us.
Dan Clymore - I think Daniel that some politicians do "get it", but are hesitant to say so. (elections you know) The general public are the ones that need this information. If enough of the general public starts supporting our soldier's efforts AND their cause the politicians will become emboldened to speak their minds and act accordingly. As of today, the only politicians I see speaking straightforward is President Bush, former PM Tony Blair and of late, the Senator from SC, Jim DeMint. God Bless him!
    Michael,
I cannot crack the book open until this weekend because I know once I open it I will need quiet and want to finish it.
    God Bless you
    Arlene

    Michael,

I just posted an excerpt and the link to your great article in the WSJ on two of my blogs. That's really poking the liberals in the eye with a sharp pen;-) I hope this helps.

I have received my copy of "Moment of Truth". I hope I can fine time to read it now;-)

    Keep up the great work!

This book, which I received in the mail just prior to deploying to DC with Vets For Freedom, is an excellent read. I have started reading it the second time through. We at A Newt One will do our best to be a part in promoting this must read account to the Best Seller list.

    HOOAH!

Well done Michael Yon. Well done.

I am a member of the Conservative Book Club where I purchase most of my books. This book needs to be added to that site as a featured selection. That would be help get this book into more homes. From what I can see, this is a book that everyone needs to read.

i received the book two Fridays ago and read it that Saturday, I could not put it down. All politicians should read it and all who are going to vote should read it.
Great book, I will keep it for my young daughters so they can read the truth about the war when they are older.
Excellent in the WSJ, you can easily tell those who posted comments that only receive their information from the MSM.

Why don't you just tell us the truth for free instead of making money off of it.

Earthman, read the blue text right above, that's his reason. Now go ask some other political author, one who hasn't been providing us with free dispatches for years, and see if he/she can give you as good a reason.

only if we had a draft. We can't make an all out commitment with our number of boots. Our soldiers are doing the best they can, but we are putting our own country in danger...Marc

Thanks, Michael, for directing me to your recent op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal. It was a great read.

Thanks, also, for calling out the grandstanding members of Congress for their self-serving behavior. Our nation, and certainly our capacity to take on the tough challenges -- including anti-terrorist warfare on two fronts -- would be much better served by a few more statesmen and a lot fewer professional politicians.

Keep up the fine work -- and enjoy your time back in the States.

Ask the reporters for the Mainstream Media to tell their version of the truth and not draw a salary. Let me know how they respond.

Michael... My wife and I spend yesterday mailing the brochure for Moment of Truth to every member of the Senate and House of Representatives in Wash, D.C. As a Vietnam vet I hated the war because congress managed it insted of really letting our Generals fight it. Your reports, good and not so good about our Generals and troops has really inspired us to do better for our troops than how we were treated when we returned from duty. Also, we have made it our goal to never let our congress control another war by letting them know the truth of their lies. Congress has no place on the battlefield as they repeatedly try to control it. They must face the truth or be voted out of office.

We both have read Moment of Truth twice now. Its hard to put down. I only wish I had enough money to send a copy of it to every member of congress instead of just the brochure. We have ordered two additional copies which we will be sending to our state representatives and I hope others will do the same. If everyone would send just one copiy to a member of congress they'll definitly get the message.

    Be safe and God Bless.

I e-mailed a couple of talk show hosts and I believe this is the kind of thing America has been waiting to hear. I would bet the farm this book will stay on top for some time.

I don't understand why people are even bothering with those fools in congress.

I received my 2 copies of Moment of Truth in Iraq last week and finally got the chance to begin it last night. I feel asleep! So Iƒ??m about to sit down now and finish it this evening. I just wanted to thank you for writing this book, Michael. It's excellent and it's very objective. I'll be giving my 2nd copy to my local city library.. we only have one! But I'll order three more next paycheck to give to my 2 State Senators, who have been on the right-side of this battle and the other I'll give to my county regional library. Then I'll do what I can to spread the word to the bookstores. At least there will be ONE accurate documentation of the war in Iraq in my libraries!

PS. On a personal note I noticed you mentioned FL. I am the genealogy researcher for my paternal line that comes from FL and I've seen Yon in the census in FL as far back as about 1830, before that back in SC. My paternal line goes back to SC too. Looks like that Yon in SC followed the same migration path as my fatherƒ??s family into FL. I've often wondered if you were descended from those Yons.

    Michael,
I ordered your book today. However, for what it is worth, I sent an email to Rush Limbaugh and asked him to plug your book. I don't know if he will, but it is worth a try. If he does he can reach millions in the time it takes to blink and eye and with much more weight that if I hand a flyer out to my local bookstore, which I will do also. Thanks for your sacrifice in going into harms way to tell us the truth. My son is a marine and stationed in Rutbah at the moment. If your travels take you there tell him hello for me and that I love him.

Michael: I just ordered a second copy of your book. Had it sent to my son an Infantry Platoon Sergeant who should be returning to home after a 15 month tour in Iraq. I'm proud of the men and women in Iraq, Afghanistan and elswhere who put their lives on the line every day. Let's pray they are successful in what they are asked to do on our behalf.
